We know this is an extremely challenging time. People across the country, and indeed around the world, are scrambling to meet the needs of this unusual moment while looking out for their own health and their loved ones.
We recognize graduate employees are dealing with the effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including workplace disruptions and closures. GAU has also compiled resources and information to help graduate employees work safely during COVID-19.
GAU continues to actively monitor developments regarding COVID-19. We encourage the community to treat COVID-19 seriously and follow the advice of public health professionals, including to practice social distancing, wear a face mask in public, and avoid large gatherings.
Following public health guidance, GAU staff will be working remotely until further notice. Please send an email for attend virtual office hours. We are all in this together, and together we'll get through this.

IMPACT BARGAINING: PROTECTING GRADUATE EMPLOYEES
GAU reached, and graduate employees ratified, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UF's administration that includes important protections for GAs during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Throughout 2020, we bargained over the effects of UF's instructions to graduate employees, including but not limited to: physical and mental safety, family and child care, access to buildings, materials, and resources, availability of Graduate and Family Housing, compensation for increased work, COVID-19 testing, and health insurance coverage for COVID-19 treatment. Read the memorandum of understanding and find the results of the ratification election. |
